Who Is Rose Paving?
Since 1974, Rose Paving has focused on preventive maintenance for parking lots. The company is headquartered in Bridgeview, Illinois, but there are five satellite offices in Los Angeles, Tampa, Chicago, Atlanta, and Denver. Customers who have a centralized purchasing operation for properties located throughout the United States are served by the company’s national division. The capital division assists customers that capitalize their parking lot maintenance or require assistance on a larger scale.
Who Is Penske?
Penske Corporation is a transportation and logistics company with several subsidiaries, including Penske Truck Rental. There are more than 3,000 locations across the country where customers can rent a Penske truck that suits their needs. Penske has trucks in a variety of sizes, and the company offers both local and long-distance rentals.
What Work Did Alpha Perform in Temple?
Penske recently purchased the property in Temple to set up a new rental location. However, the existing asphalt pavement was in poor condition. Cracks and potholes were present throughout the property. Alpha carefully evaluated the issues with the pavement before recommending an asphalt overlay.
We milled and hauled away approximately 15,150 square yards of the existing pavement. The depth of the milling varied from two inches to five inches. We then applied a tack coat and 15,150 square yards of Type B asphalt with a depth of four inches. Since the site will experience heavy trucking traffic, it was necessary to choose a type of asphalt that would provide the strength required to support the stress inflicted by heavy loads. Type B asphalt mix contains aggregate that is larger than the aggregate that is typically used for pavements that only bear passenger vehicles. We also provided a new striping layout for the parking lot and the interior of the service warehouse.
We had initially estimated that the project would require four days, but we were able to complete it in three days. Both Penske and Rose Paving were pleased with the final product, and they were also thrilled that we were able to complete the work a day early. Rose Paving expects that this project will lead to future work for them at other Penske locations as Penske has already requested quotes for additional projects.
