What Was the Scope of the Asphalt Paving Project in Hutto?
The streets in the subdivision paving covered a total of almost 34,000 square yards, which is equivalent to more than 305,000 square feet. The requested pavement depth was two inches. We determined that the job would require approximately 4,000 tons of asphalt.
Because the quality of a finished asphalt pavement relies heavily on obtaining proper compaction before the mix cools below a certain temperature, we knew that it was essential to ensure that we had the right equipment and sufficient workforce in place throughout the job. We brought in two full crews as well as their tools, equipment, and supplies. It took three days to complete our work. At the end of the project, we heard the comment from our customer that we always want to hear, which was, “Job well done!”
